Designated pits area with respect to wind direction

site map

In simple terms: we never take of towards people, the pits and finally cars, with the exception of South to South Westerly winds our pit area remains on the entrance road/ perimeter track . With the car parking away from the pit area with South to South Westerly winds the pit area will move to the north side of the flying field and the flying may take to the North of the bridal path or to the West, and all landings will be from your right to left! When operating from the north side of the field it will be acceptable to have cars parked within the pit area if busy due lack of parking on this side.

At all times pilots will stand alongside each other and never fly behind one and other

May We also remind you that the pits must never go past the line as indicated on the picture. The exception to this rule is that petrol engines and turbines may be started in the corner close to the wind sock.

If there is insufficient space in the pits and it is busy then one car or more must be moved further down the perimeter track to allow a bigger pits
